The Story
Our Pleasure was born out of a desire to give trans folx a place to talk about something uplifting and positive. There is joy in our lives. Joy so meaningful and powerful that it redefines what's possible for all of us. We find that joy in Our Pleasure.
The first episode aired on March 31st, 2025. The concept for the show came much sooner than that. Your host spent time reaching out to her own community to ask what they would like to hear in a show like this - or, would they even want a show like this! The response to this was astounding! So many of their peers were so eager to hear what could come out of this project. She knew she had to make this a reality.
With a list of her community's questions in hand, Lady Phoenyx began the journey to bring this show to you!
The Host
Lady Phoenyx is so beyond delighted to be your host!
You could say she began her journey with this show back in 2014 when she started studying psychology. A journey that quickly developed into an interest in sex therapy, sexual health, kink, consent, and all things sex. Her curiosity lead her ever deeper into the exploration of these things. Once she learned about kink and sex parties she was obsessed.
Fast forward to 2023. She, with the help of a few others, founded The Phoenyx Nest - a trans-exclusive space for the exploration of sex and kink. It was here that she began to know this show was her next step. Hearing how eager her peers were to share their stories with one another, she offered them a place to share them with the world!
From here she has such aspirations, but all of them revolve around helping people heal their relationship to their bodies and their sexuality.
The Band
Mer (they/them), known as Premium Rat, is a 31 year old nonbinary songwriter and musician. They have been playing guitar and writing songs for over 15 years, and singing for most of their life. "A singer-songrwriter with punk tendencies", they are invested in using music as a tool for personal reflection, emotional catharsis, and collective liberation. Their music touches on a variety of timeless topics such as depression, queer and trans identity, and the desire to burn all this shit to the ground and build a better world amongst the ashes. Premium Rat aims to break your heart and put it back together again.
Premium Rat's sound can be loosely defined as alternative rock, taking inspiration from all over. They are influenced by a myriad of sounds, from the grunge and pop-punk waves of the 90s and 2000s to the queer and femme-led singer-songwriter, folk, and indie rock movements of today. As of early 2025, Premium Rat plays as a 4-piece with Kim on drums, Osprey on bass, and Lior on electric and acoustic violin. The introduction of the violin, in addition to a growing investment in the band's live chops, has meant that Premium Rat's sound has evolved significantly since the first album was released. They are currently hard at work in the studio making album #2 - featuring the other band members in the studio for the very first time!
